Customer Comments and Testimonials

This case involves a doctoral student who successfully obtained a Temporary Resident Visa to attend the ICOPA 2026 academic conference in Canada. Following an initial visa refusal and facing a very tight deadline before departure, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada carefully rebuilt the application and actively followed up with IRCC. Through our dedicated visa application agency support, the client successfully secured their visa in time to present their research on the international stage.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

I did not move to Canada or study there. I applied for a Temporary Resident Visa to visit Canada for ICOPA 2026, where I was invited to give an oral presentation. As a doctoral student, this was an important opportunity to present my research and connect with international researchers.

What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?

I chose Visa JP Canada because I wanted professional guidance for my Temporary Resident Visa application. I also appreciated that the team could support applicants living in Japan and communicate clearly in English throughout the process.

What was the most memorable part of the process?

The most memorable experience was the support I received when my departure date was approaching and my application had exceeded the published processing time. Yuki carefully monitored my IRCC account, submitted a status enquiry on my behalf, and guided me through the passport submission process. Thanks to this close follow-up, my visa was issued and my passport was returned in time for my trip.

How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?

I had an excellent experience with Visa JP Canada. Yuki and Hiromi were professional, thorough, and reassuring throughout the entire process. The required documents and each step of the application were explained clearly, and my questions were always answered promptly. I felt that my application was handled with great care, and I am sincerely grateful for their support.

Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada

I am not planning to move to Canada at this time, as my visit was specifically to attend ICOPA 2026 and present my research. For anyone planning to visit, study, or move to Canada, I recommend preparing all documents carefully and seeking experienced professional guidance if the visa process feels uncertain.

Additional Comments

My initial visa application was refused, which made me feel very worried and uncertain about applying again, especially because the time before my planned departure was extremely limited. Yuki carefully reviewed my previous application, thoroughly explained the possible reasons for the refusal, and guided me in preparing a much stronger new application. When the travel date was approaching, she also closely monitored my application and promptly followed up with IRCC.

I feel extremely fortunate that I decided to seek their professional assistance. Without their expertise, careful guidance, and dedicated support, navigating the reapplication process within such a limited timeframe would have been much more difficult and stressful.

Thank you very much to Yuki and Hiromi for your kindness, patience, and commitment throughout the entire process. I am truly grateful that I was able to receive my visa and travel to Canada in time for my oral presentation at ICOPA 2026.

Consultant's Point

We received a consultation from Mr./Ms. R, an Indonesian national currently studying in a doctoral program in Japan, regarding a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application to attend an international conference in Canada and deliver an oral presentation. Initially, Mr./Ms. R applied for the TRV independently but was refused in late May. The refusal was based on five points: the likelihood of leaving Canada at the end of the stay, temporary immigration status in Japan, family ties outside Canada, the purpose of the visit, and personal assets and financial status. Following this refusal, they immediately reached out to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada. After a free consultation with Sugii, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada agreed to assist with the reapplication. However, because the international conference was scheduled for August, there was a strict deadline. Given the standard processing times, we explained that we could not guarantee the visa would be issued in time for the departure date. Understanding this extremely time-sensitive situation, the client proceeded with Shiraishi VisaJP Canada as an urgent case. Once the agreement was finalized, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada moved quickly to avoid wasting any time. We carefully verified each reason for the previous refusal and meticulously prepared the necessary supporting documents to resolve every concern raised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Specifically, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada provided objective evidence demonstrating that Mr./Ms. R is enrolled in a doctoral program in Japan as a government-sponsored international student and must return to Japan to continue their research and studies after the conference. We clearly explained that the purpose of the trip was strictly temporary, focused on delivering an oral presentation at an academic conference related to their doctoral research. Additionally, we provided documentation proving they possessed sufficient financial resources for their stay in Canada. Thanks to this swift preparation, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada successfully submitted the new TRV application on June 11. After submission, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada continuously monitored the application status. Once the published standard processing time had passed, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada submitted a status inquiry to IRCC, reiterating the conference schedule and the upcoming departure date. The very next day, a Passport Request was issued. When submitting the passport, Shiraishi VisaJP Canada also informed the Visa Application Centre (VAC) of the impending departure date and requested the fastest possible processing. As a result, the passport was successfully returned with the TRV attached, allowing the client to travel to Canada as planned. The passport arrived just four days before the scheduled departure. Although this reapplication was handled on an extremely tight schedule, Mr./Ms. R consistently responded to all requests and confirmations from Shiraishi VisaJP Canada with speed and precision. They prepared every required document flawlessly, and this high level of cooperation from the client was undoubtedly a major factor in successfully securing the visa. It is common for applicants to feel anxious or hesitant to reapply after a visa refusal. However, by accurately understanding the reasons for the refusal and rebuilding the application with appropriate evidence and explanations to address those specific concerns, there is a strong possibility that a reapplication will be approved. Shiraishi VisaJP Canada sincerely hopes that the experiences gained and the connections made with international researchers at this conference in Canada will greatly benefit Mr./Ms. R in obtaining their doctoral degree and advancing their future research and career. We wish them continued success in all their endeavors.
