Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I decided to move to Canada after staying there on a working holiday visa for the first time and feeling drawn to its multicultural society. I believed that living in an environment where people from various backgrounds coexist and respect each other would allow me to experience different values and cultures from Japan, broadening my perspective.

S started the LMIA process about six months before his visa expired, so initially, there seemed to be plenty of time. Up until then, LMIA reviews had been relatively quick, taking only 1-2 months, but the processing time gradually increased. As we were waiting for the LMIA, the work permit deadline approached, and we had to apply for a work permit extension, explaining that the LMIA was still under review. The LMIA was approved after about five and a half months, just in time for the work permit application, and a two-year work permit was successfully issued. Currently, the LMIA processing time has become even longer, averaging about eight months, so it would be ideal for employers to cooperate and allow for sufficient time.
