What is a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)?
Citizens of countries that are not visa-exempt are required to obtain a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) before entering Canada. Japanese nationals are visa-exempt and do not require a Temporary Resident Visa.
A Temporary Resident Visa is required to enter Canada for any of the following purposes: tourism, visiting friends or relatives, business trip, conference attendance, conference presentation, market research, and contract signing. There are two types of temporary resident visas: Single Entry, which allows entry to Canada only once, and Multiple Entry, which permits multiple entries within the visa’s validity period.
