What is the Caregiver Class?
A caregiver is someone employed in a private household to take care of children, elderly people, or individuals with special needs, and assist with household chores, either in their own home or in the home of the person receiving care. By gaining work experience in this role within Canada, you can apply for permanent residence through the Caregiver Class. It is possible to apply for both permanent residence and a work permit at the same time. An open work permit specific to caregiver roles will be issued to applicants. This is a limited-time program available until June 2024.
