What is the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)?
The program helps attract skilled workers to the region and supports employers in filling their job vacancies. Due to the high volume of applications, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has created a priority list. By prioritizing certain applications, this ensures that businesses within the Nominee Program can continue their operations smoothly and meet the demands of the labour market.
Priority for application approval in the Yukon Nominee Program
Applications will be processed in order of priority, starting with those in Category A and moving sequentially through to Category D.
- Applicants currently in Canada on visitor status.
- Holders of work permits nearing expiration.
- Current work permit holders (including those with post-graduation work permits set to expire within a few months to three years).
- Individuals residing outside Canada.

Critical Impact Worker Stream
Employers seeking to fill positions classified under skill levels 4 or 5 can apply through the Critical Impact Worker Stream.
The skill levels are defined in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) as outlined below.

Skilled Worker Stream
Employers seeking to fill positions classified under skill levels 0, 1, 2, or 3 can apply through the Skilled Worker Stream.
The skill levels are defined in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) as outlined below.

Express-Entry Stream
Employers seeking to fill positions classified under skill levels 1, 2, or 3 can apply through the Express Entry Stream.

Yukon Community Program Stream
Launched in January 2020, this stream is designed to address employment patterns in Yukon, where many jobs are seasonal in nature.
