Applied for a Study Permit from Japan for High School Study Abroad|Ms. H

Accompanying her 15-year-old daughter, who was going to study at a high school in Canada, Ms. H asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle her daughter’s study permit and a visa extending her own period of stay. Despite complicated procedures such as having the consent form certified with her husband, who was living apart for work, the visas were obtained in about 1 week.
The accompanying mother’s visitor visa was also obtained for the same period as her daughter’s study permit.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
My 15-year-old daughter was going to study at a high school abroad, and I, her mother, was going to accompany her, so we needed a study permit for my daughter and a visa extending my own period of stay.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
We had arranged the school, flights and so on ourselves without going through a study abroad agency, but the study permit documents were an important procedure where no mistakes could be allowed, so I thought it would be better to leave it to professionals after all and asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
They have an office in Canada, and I had the impression that their consultants were experienced, so I decided without hesitation.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
Visas for minors require a variety of documents, and gathering them was hard. What was particularly difficult was that, because my husband lives apart from us for work, we had to sign the parental consent form separately and go to notary offices to have our signatures certified. It was a time-consuming task: confirming by phone with a notary office in Kyushu and another in Tohoku, preparing the required documents, and sending them by mail.
Then, once all the documents were ready, the consultant in charge told us, “We have submitted the application to the Canadian Embassy,” and just a few days later we heard, “The application has been approved,” which amazed me. The Canadian Embassy website said it would take 12 to 16 weeks, so I was moved by how fast it was.
They also wrote a letter for me requesting that my visitor status be extended to the same period as my daughter’s study permit.
On the day of entry, I was nervous about whether we could enter smoothly, but we submitted the full set of documents they had prepared and waited just 10 minutes! After one or two simple questions, we were handed our visas right away.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
I am truly glad we asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
