Applying from Japan for a Study Permit for High School and a Visitor Visa for the Accompanying Parent|Ms. H

Ms. H, who was accompanying her 15-year-old daughter to high school in Canada, asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle the application for her daughter’s study permit and her own guardian stay permit (Visitor Record). Although the process involved complicated steps, such as having the consent form certified separately with her husband, who was living away for work, the visas were obtained in about one week.
The accompanying mother was also able to obtain her stay permit for the same period as her daughter’s study permit.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
My 15-year-old daughter was going to study at a high school in Canada, and I, her mother, was going with her, so we needed a student visa (study permit) for my daughter and a long-term stay visa (visitor record) for myself.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
We had been preparing for the school, the flights and so on without going through a study abroad agency, but the documents for the student visa were an important procedure where no mistakes were allowed, so I thought it would be better to leave it to professionals and asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
They had an office in Vancouver, where my daughter would be studying, and I had the impression that their consultants were experienced, so I decided without hesitation.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
A visa for a minor requires a variety of documents, and gathering them was hard. The most difficult part was the parental consent form: because my husband was living apart from us for work, we had to sign it separately and have each signature certified at a notary office. It was a time-consuming task of checking by phone with a notary office in Kyushu and another in Tohoku, preparing the required documents and sending them by mail.
Then, once all the documents were in order, the consultant in charge told me, “We have submitted the application to the Canadian Embassy,” and just a few days later I received word that it had been approved, which really surprised me. The Canadian Embassy’s website said it would take 12 to 16 weeks, so I was amazed at how fast it was.
They also wrote a letter for me requesting that my stay be permitted for the same period as my daughter’s student visa.
On the day we entered Canada, I was nervous about whether we would get through smoothly, but I submitted the full set of documents they had prepared, and after waiting just 10 minutes and answering one or two simple questions, we were handed our visas right away.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
I truly think it was the right decision to ask Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
