Relinquishing Childhood Canadian Permanent Residence to Obtain a Post-Doctoral Work Permit|Client H

While busy working as a clinician, Client H was given the opportunity to do research in Canada as a Master’s Degree/Ph.D. holder. Because preparing a huge number of documents and meeting visa requirements in limited time would have been a heavy burden, the client valued certainty and asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle the application. During preparation, it turned out that permanent resident status from childhood remained unrenewed, and the application was unexpectedly put on hold. However, the problem was resolved quickly, and the client successfully obtained a post-doctoral work permit.
Permanent resident status from childhood, which the client had assumed had already lapsed automatically, came to light during the application. We quickly took the formal steps to renounce it and applied for the work permit.

Client Comments
Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I work as a clinician, and after completing graduate school, I was given the opportunity to go abroad as a Master’s Degree/Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) holder, which brought me to Canada.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
I thought preparing to go abroad while doing my regular work would be a considerable physical and mental burden, so, since “time is money,” I was planning to use a visa application service. After searching online, I found Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
In addition to their many case examples, there was a recent case like mine, obtaining a post-doctoral work permit, so I decided to ask Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
Gathering complicated documents is stressful enough, and doing it in English makes it even more so, but with Shiraishi VisaJP Canada, all communication was in Japanese, so the stress was minimal.
They listed the documents in Japanese and explained which department to get each one from and how, so preparing the documents was not that hard. In the end, it depends on how fast the administrative staff at your new workplace are (wry smile).
You can easily ask questions by email whenever you don’t understand something, and their email responses are quick. They also responded promptly by email and phone to sudden problems, which was reassuring.
However, in my case, I had lived in Canada as a young child and, although I had no memory of it, it turned out that I still held permanent resident status that had never been renewed, which held up my visa application. I was told that Canadian permanent residence now requires a renewal procedure, and that travelling to Canada after doing that would make the procedures even more complicated. Since I was not particularly set on living in Canada permanently, I decided to renounce my permanent residence and continue with the visa application.
They responded quickly to this kind of trouble as well, and despite the unexpected situation, I was able to obtain the visa relatively smoothly.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff once again. Thank you very much. I highly recommend Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to everyone reading this.
