When a Study Permit Just Would Not Arrive: Persistent Support Through Immigration Delays｜Ms. U

Although delays at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada meant her permit took a long time to be issued, Ms. U ultimately obtained her study permit thanks to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s persistent follow-up and repeated enquiries.
They contacted and followed up with the immigration authority almost every day and reported the status to me carefully!

Key Points from the Consultant
Not much time had passed since Ms. U obtained her working holiday visa, but because a change to the study permit rules was planned that would affect her ability to get a post-graduation work permit afterwards, she applied for a study permit quickly, before the change took effect.
Her school did not start until September of the following year, but the study permit (with a Co-op permit) was approved in January, well ahead of the start date. After that, however, the original permit document never arrived from the immigration authority. We enquired again and again, and in the end, since they simply would not act, we applied to have the permit reissued.
I was so relieved when the reissue was approved, but until the document actually arrived, neither Ms. U nor I could settle down for fear it would go missing again. The permit did arrive safely, and I am truly glad it made it in time for the September start.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
My older sister had studied in Canada before, and she told me it was an easy place to live with a lot of kind people.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
I was introduced to them by my study abroad agency. I also heard that there was an option for expedited handling, which I thought would be very helpful, so I decided to go with them.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
My study permit took a long time to be issued, and I spent an anxious period waiting. The cause was a delay on the immigration authority’s side, but my representative at Shiraishi VisaJP Canada contacted and followed up with them almost every day and reported the status to me carefully, and in the end it was issued without any problem.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
They used their extensive knowledge and experience to solve problems that would have been hard for me to resolve had I applied on my own, and it was a huge help. I am very satisfied and truly grateful.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
Travelling to an unfamiliar place overseas takes a lot of courage. But in Canada many people are not native English speakers, so there is no need to worry if your English is not perfect. Many Canadians are warm people who will speak slowly and make an effort to understand you, so please relax and enjoy yourself!
