Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

In 2018, I decided to move to Canada with my children for their education. While moving abroad had always been a dream, as a single parent, I had to carefully consider many factors, such as my children’s education, the cost of immigration, safety, and the likelihood of obtaining a visa. After thorough research, I chose Canada as the country that best met our needs.

Why did you choose JP Canada for assistance?

I first entrusted JP Canada for my co-op program and my children’s study permits. While I had researched various consulting firms in Japan, I trusted JP Canada because they are based in Canada and have in-depth knowledge of local information.

What memorable events occurred during the application process?

The initial co-op program allowed us to stay in Canada for two years, but soon after arriving, I had to consider our next visa status. During this time, I obtained two work permits. The first was through an LMIA-based work permit, and then I transitioned to an Entrepreneur Work Permit.

Additionally, I applied for two work permits for employees I hired in my own business and proceeded with my own Permanent Residence (PR) application. I also had to extend my children’s visas six times, resulting in nearly 10 visa-related processes that I entrusted to JP Canada.

Running my own business made using a consultant an efficient choice, saving me time. I truly believe it was the right decision.

Ms. Shiraishi was a huge help with the complicated process of obtaining the Entrepreneur Work Permit. Her vast experience and precise advice were invaluable in planning the next steps.

Ms. Sakurai helped with my children’s study permit process from the beginning. Her detailed attention made the process go smoothly.

Ms. Yamashita assisted me with the Family Class PR application. Despite my complex family situation, she quickly and professionally guided me through the necessary documents, which was incredibly reassuring.

While it’s possible to apply for a visa on your own, I believe using a consultant is a huge time-saver. I chose JP Canada for its reliability and focus on priorities. Their support with my work permit, especially the LMIA process, allowed me to focus on my job.

What are your future plans in Canada, and what message would you give to those planning to move to Canada?

I currently run two businesses in Canada and plan to open new stores this year or next. I’m also considering franchise expansion in the future, with the ultimate goal of bringing my business back to Japan.

Since coming to Canada, I’ve received so much help from people, and now, as I’m able to employ others and support them, I hope I can give back in some way.
