How I got permanent residence
Before coming to Canada, I wasn’t thinking about immigrating at all. I came to Canada on a working holiday, but I wanted to stay longer than a year, so after arriving I looked through job listings in Japanese community newspapers for employers who would sponsor a visa. I found a listing that offered to sponsor a work permit, called right away, had an interview and was hired.
After that, I got a 3-year work permit, and I was planning to go back to Japan when it expired. But friends and colleagues around me started applying for immigration, I became interested, and the workplace I was with at the time supported my permanent residence, so I was able to immigrate.
There were no major incidents during the application, but if I had to name something, the wait between finishing the medical exam and receiving the passport request was oddly long. Also, the application I originally sent to Buffalo was transferred to Seattle, and as a result I had to submit proof that I was still working for the employer that had obtained the LMO.
I Want to Make Customers Happy Through My Cooking
After that, I fulfilled my dream of going independent and opening my own business. It has been 2 years since I started my own restaurant, and I hope to make as many customers as possible happy through my cooking. I have worked in the food industry ever since I was in Japan, and I really think it’s the right job for me.
I have met many people at work, been greatly inspired and grown a lot. I will keep working hard to serve delicious food and bring joy to as many people as possible

Rather than a formal Western-style restaurant, it has the relaxed atmosphere of a Japanese yoshoku (Western-style) eatery. Popular dishes, made by the owner himself, who trained in France, include juicy hamburg steak, chicken nanban, piping-hot molten fondant au chocolat and fluffy fresh roll cake. A lovely place that brings back memories of Japanese coffee shops!
