I think the immigration application system is probably more complicated than most people imagine.
To eliminate as many sources of worry as possible and make your application more certain, I absolutely recommend going to Visa JP Canada!
Why did you decide to pursue permanent residence in Canada?
I haven’t achieved it yet, but I decided to come to Canada with the goal of working on Hollywood films as a CG artist. People strongly associate Hollywood films with the US, but I knew that Vancouver has as much film and TV production as the US, or even more, and that it is also famous worldwide as a very livable city, so I chose it.
Before leaving Japan, my interest in permanent residence was vague, but after actually studying and working here, I came to like Canada even more, so I made up my mind to apply for permanent residence.
How did you learn about us, and why did you decide to use our services?
First, I got a study permit and studied English in Toronto for six months, then moved to Vancouver and did a one-year vocational program. After graduating, I got a working holiday visa and found a job at a CG studio, and that company applied for an LMIA for me, so I obtained a one-year work permit. When my working holiday ended, I had met the application requirement of one year of work experience, so I tried to start seriously working toward my immigration application, but on my own I couldn’t figure out what I needed to gather or what options I had. Since JP Canada had helped me with my school procedures when I was studying, I rushed to Visa JP Canada through that connection.
What was the actual process toward obtaining permanent residence like?
They explained things I could never have figured out on my own in a very easy-to-understand way, so I was able to quickly obtain the documents I needed and apply. However, just before my work permit expired, I was suddenly told I was being laid off. My application had already been submitted, but I became very worried about whether I could still obtain permanent residence, and I was on edge for about half a year. I now work at a TV animation studio, but just before I got that job, I received my immigration approval from IRCC, presented it at the border, and successfully became an immigrant.

What was the hardest part of that process, or the most memorable?
As I mentioned, after being laid off from the company where I had worked for about 2 years on a working holiday and an LMIA, I was extremely anxious about whether I could still obtain permanent residence.
I lost the work permit that the company had sponsored, but even then Visa JP Canada handled things calmly, and I was able to get a Bridging Open Work Permit to cover the time until my immigration approval came through.
What are your future goals?
To work hard at the job in front of me, build my skills, take part in making a Hollywood film, and get my name in the end credits.
It’s by no means easy, but it has been my dream for a long time, and I think getting permanent residence has opened up more possibilities, so however long it takes, I want to keep working toward that goal.
One more thing: I want to make videos about Canada as I’ve experienced it and post them on YouTube to encourage people in Japan who are unsure about whether to come. Just talking about everyday life here would be too ordinary, so it may sound off the wall, but I’d like to combine it with live-fire shooting, which is my hobby and something you can only do in North America. To do that, I’m preparing to get a firearms licence.
Please share a message for those aiming for permanent residence in Canada.
I think the immigration application system is probably more complicated than most people imagine. On top of that, I know several people who had their applications refused because of even a small error or omission in their documents and gave up. It’s true that you can apply for immigration on your own if you want to, but to eliminate as many sources of worry as possible and make your application more certain, I absolutely recommend going to Visa JP Canada! I believe I am where I am today, with permanent residence, because they suggested the best option for me and guided me there.
