“I Wish I Had Asked for the Full Application Service!” Says Our Consultation-Only Client|Ms. E

After marrying her Canadian partner, Ms. E set out to obtain permanent residence and, after attending a free Shiraishi VisaJP Canada seminar, asked us for consultations. Although she used only our consultation service rather than our full application service, she obtained permanent residence under the Family Class (outland application / spouse) in about 20 months.
For your questions, it is best to ask an experienced professional. For applicants, everything is new, so there is so much you do not know. If you want to save the time spent researching on your own and agonizing over what you do not understand, I definitely recommend the application service.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
In March 2020, I entered Canada planning a one-month sightseeing trip to visit my Canadian boyfriend.
However, two days after I arrived, the airports closed and the pandemic began. After that, we got married, I applied to extend my visitor status, and I started preparing to apply for permanent residence.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
While gathering information online from blogs by people who had applied for permanent residence and from the websites of various immigration consultants, I found a free permanent residence seminar by Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s consultants (presented by Ms. Shiraishi) at just the right time and attended it.
The second half of the seminar included a Q&A session, and the content was very worthwhile. There was also information about a free consultation with a counsellor (via Zoom and email), so I got in touch right away. Their response was sincere and their explanations were very careful, and I decided that if I were going to ask anyone, it would be Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
Referring to the information on the immigration authorities’ website, I gathered most of the required supporting documents and filled in the permanent residence application forms, then listed only the questions I had. Thinking that all I needed was to resolve those questions before applying, I decided to request a “3-hour consultation” with a consultant rather than having a consultant handle the application for me. Ms. Yamashita was in charge and gave me advice via Zoom and email, and I completed my application by mail to the immigration authorities.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
Four months after I applied, requests for a medical exam and biometrics arrived from the immigration authorities, and things were progressing more smoothly than I had expected. But the joy was short-lived: for the next year there was no contact at all, and all I could do was wait.
When contact finally came, it was a request for more additional documents…
After I submitted the additional documents, the final request finally arrived, but I could not understand what it meant, so I immediately consulted Ms. Yamashita. At that point I had only 30 minutes of consultation time left, and my heart was pounding: would it be enough? There had been many times before when I wanted to use that consultation time, but I had held on to it for an emergency, and that turned out to be exactly the right decision.
Thanks to Ms. Yamashita’s quick and precise advice, my PR card arrived a month and a half after the final request.
It took 20 months from application to permanent residence, a really long wait. Now that I finally have permanent residence, I feel like a full-fledged member of Canadian society, and I am very happy.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
When I faced guidance from the immigration authorities that was harder to understand than I had expected, and when I wanted to check something with them but could hardly get through by phone, my anxiety and stress during the review just kept growing. Even within the limited “3-hour consultation,” Ms. Yamashita helped me a great deal, but it is also true that I regretted many times not having asked for the full application service. If I could go back in time, I would ask them to handle my application.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
To anyone thinking about applying for permanent residence, I can recommend Shiraishi VisaJP Canada, and their application service, without hesitation!
