What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
I had lived in Vancouver before, and a friend had also used them, so I already knew the name Shiraishi VisaJP Canada. What was the most memorable part of the process?
Put simply, “permanent residence” sounds easy, but qualifying for it was really hard. I decided to aim for permanent residence through Alberta’s Provincial Nominee Program, but I was already 38 when I came to Canada, and my path was study permit (language school) → study permit (public college) → work permit → permanent residence application, so clearing each goal one by one was not easy.
In particular, an unexpected COVID-19 lockdown hit right after I graduated from college, and finding a full-time office job was really difficult, since the Alberta PNP application required an employer. I also considered going back to Japan, but I felt I could not give up now, after going as far as graduating from a Canadian college past the age of 40.
