Looking for accurate and speedy visa application support despite a busy schedule, Ms. T came to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada on an acquaintance’s referral and asked us to handle her permanent residence application under the Family Class (outland / common-law partner). An error in a government-issued document was discovered while she was collecting documents, but thanks to prompt action, she obtained permanent residence in approximately 4 months.
They responded immediately even to an unexpected situation, and the review went extremely smoothly.

What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
When I was thinking about applying for permanent residence, an acquaintance introduced me to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada and I got in touch. I was extremely busy with work and could not find the time, so I was looking for a company that would give me accurate advice and help me with my visa application quickly. In my case, there were several ways to apply for permanent residence, and in the first counselling session, legal assistant Takinami carefully explained the advantages and disadvantages of each, the differences in cost, the differences in processing time, and so on. Their explanation was the easiest to understand and their follow-up emails were also courteous, so I chose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
There were a great many documents to collect, but my immigration consultant, Ms. Yamashita, explained everything thoroughly at the start, so even though I was busy, I was able to gather the documents in a planned way. There were also many forms to fill out, but she gave me detailed instructions for each one, such as “You don’t need to fill this in” or “It’s better to fill all of this in,” so I never got confused. I could also ask Ms. Yamashita whenever something worried me, so I was able to proceed with peace of mind.
What helped me most was when, while collecting documents, it turned out that a document had been issued with an error due to a mistake on the issuer’s side.
I had not noticed the error myself, and only realised it when Ms. Yamashita pointed it out: “There is an error in this document. Did something happen?” I contacted the issuer right away and had it reissued, but it could have been very difficult if I had been applying on my own, and at that moment I was once again glad that I had asked for their support.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
At first, I intended to go back to Japan right after graduating from university in Canada, but thanks to various connections, I was able to go as far as obtaining permanent residence. Considering that four years ago I was an ordinary office worker in Japan, it feels like a big change, but I think it was really an accumulation of small decisions, such as “I want to study in Canada!” and “I’m going to get a job in Canada!”
For anyone who wants to give it a try in Canada, I recommend first talking to a professional. There are many types of visas, and there are also many ways to apply for permanent residence, each with different requirements. I think the first step is to get advice and turn a vague dream into something concrete.
