Mr. and Ms. A decided to immigrate to Canada with permanent residence in mind, and asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle their study permit and spousal open work permit applications. Just after they obtained their visas, Canadian immigration made major changes affecting spousal open work permit eligibility — they got their visas in about 1 month, just in time.

Key Points from the Consultant
We spent about two hours in the first consulting Zoom meeting, carefully listening to their situation and wishes before setting a direction and deciding on a timeline for what to do and when.
About six months after that meeting, the acceptance letter arrived from the college, and they applied for their visas. About a year and a half after our first conversation, they began their life in Canada. The A family’s decisiveness and drive to take action were truly impressive.
Canada’s immigration system has been changing especially rapidly lately, and if you take things too slowly, the programs you were counting on can change before you know it. As the saying goes, “If not now, when?”

Client Comments
Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I wanted to live somewhere outside Japan, and I was specifically thinking about a country where I could obtain permanent residence. I had never visited Canada before, but there were several reasons I decided to immigrate here. First, English is an official language in Canada, and it has abundant nature. Also, as climate change progresses, I wanted to choose a cooler region, and Canada felt like a good fit. On top of that, the fact that it’s possible to obtain permanent residence even past age 40 was also appealing.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
While researching online, I came across Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s website. The information was so thorough that I felt I could trust them, so as a trial I first used their paid consulting service. When we spoke with Ms. Shiraishi over Zoom, she proposed a plan that fit us well, and since I felt I could trust her, we asked them to handle our visa procedures from then on.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
A few weeks after obtaining a study permit for a public college, Canadian immigration made major changes to the study permit rules. Those changes included an important one: spousal open work permits would no longer be issued. If we had missed this timing, our dream of going to Canada together as a family would have slipped away. I am truly relieved that we managed to get the visas just in time.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
We are very satisfied! We felt that relying on professionals, rather than struggling with it ourselves, let things move forward smoothly without any detours. Ms. Gould was also a great help with the visa process. It’s very reassuring to be able to consult with them anytime we have concerns. Thank you always!
