I was pregnant when the permanent residence application began. When the application reached the medical examination step, Ms. Sakurai, the immigration consultant handling my case, immediately informed the immigration authority that I was pregnant and could not have an X-ray. The review was put on hold at that point, but she contacted them to resume it right after the birth, which was a huge help. I do not think I could have managed any of that myself, so I felt truly glad to have asked them.

There are still so many places and activities I do not know, and I want to take on all sorts of things myself while raising my child.
