Under the parent sponsorship programme, eligibility to apply is granted each year by lottery from the pool of people who "registered" back in 2020 (as of March 2026), and we started the application in 2024, the year the invitation arrived. Throughout that time her mother extended her status as a visitor.
After filing there were several requests for additional documents, such as proof of the sponsor’s residence, and each time they were prepared perfectly and submitted without delay.
It took a very long time from the original starting point — the 2020 registration — but her status never lapsed, and they saw it through to the finish.
