About This Visa Application
This time it was a work permit renewal. I had been consulting Ms. Shiraishi of Shiraishi VisaJP Canada since before I set up my company in Vancouver, and she has advised me on everything from setting up the company to applying for and obtaining my first visa, and on this visa as well.
For my first visa, since the company was a branch of a Japanese company, we were preparing an application for an intra-company transferee work permit. However, because the Canadian corporation was still small, we ultimately separated it from the Japanese company, and I obtained a work permit as an investor purchasing a Canadian salon.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
I applied for this renewal in July. Because of COVID-19, the work permit processing times announced by the immigration authorities had kept getting longer, so I thought I would get it around February, but my work permit was approved in mid-November. I am so relieved.
I also have a company in Japan and wanted to go back to Japan in December to take care of it, so now I can go back with peace of mind.
