Beginning with a co-op study programme at the age of 31, work and the people he met in Canada became a turning point in Mr. K’s life. After an RO visa (second working holiday), this time he obtained a CPTPP Professional Work Permit (T52), adapting flexibly to a sudden change in the rules.

Why did you decide to stay on in Canada?
I first came to Canada in February 2022 for a co-op programme, at the age of 31. After that I began receiving website production and marketing work from local companies, and once my own business in Canada was on track I decided to stay long term. After the co-op visa I obtained an RO visa two years running, and for this renewal I applied for a CPTPP Professional Work Permit. Being able to work in Canada, having incorporated a company here, and how easy Vancouver is to live in were the main reasons I decided to keep living here.
