Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

What first made me think about living abroad was that, in my late teens, my interest in music made me want to live in an English-speaking country. It was a long time before I actually went, but I started a year of life in Canada on a working holiday. One year really was very short, and I strongly wanted to stay longer, so as a way to extend my stay, I visited Jinzai Canada to consult them about finding a job.

Even though my working holiday was about to expire, they found me an employment opportunity, and since I had heard from that employer that they were a “very reliable agency,” I did not hesitate to ask them for help with the work permit application afterwards. What was the most memorable part of the process?

I was preparing my permanent residence application under the Canadian Experience Class smoothly, but when all that was left was to submit it, a government rule change made me ineligible, and I was forced to change the direction of my application. My visa deadline made the schedule very tight, and to apply under the Federal Skilled Worker category, the only option still open to me, I needed a great deal of motivation to balance studying for IELTS in particular with my job. That is something I will never forget (laughs).
