From Study Permit to Working Holiday and Work Permit, Steadily Building a Path to PR|Client I

After a study permit and a working holiday, Client I obtained an LMIA-based work permit and, on a referral from the language school the client attended, asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada for help. Despite a period when the client had to take time off work during the COVID-19 pandemic, the client obtained permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in about 2.5 months.
Things sometimes turned out unexpectedly because of COVID-19, but I got PR in a short time!

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I had always dreamed of living abroad, and I was looking for a way to stay as long as possible, with a working holiday (working holiday visa) as a given. As a result, I planned the path from the start: a six-month study permit for language school → a one-year permit for career college → a working holiday, and came to Canada.
I was torn between Australia and Canada for my working holiday, but I finally chose Canada because my very first trip abroad was to Canada, so it also meant going back to where I started. Also, through my co-op work at the career college, I came to want to be able to choose from a variety of jobs without being limited to one occupation, so I began to think about obtaining permanent residence.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
A Japanese coordinator at the language school I attended told me that Shiraishi VisaJP Canada provides careful service, so I asked them for help starting from my study permit application.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
Honestly, I am not very good at restaurant work, and I think the most mentally difficult things were building my work experience while continuing in a type of job I was not good at, the possibility of having to renew my work permit if I did not receive a PR invitation while my work permit was valid, and continuing to wait for an invitation without knowing when it would come. This time in particular, because of COVID-19, there was a period when I had to take time off work, and unexpected events happened one after another, so I worried about whether I would be able to obtain permanent residence at all, and my anxiety grew even stronger.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
Under those circumstances, what I am glad about using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s application service is that it greatly reduces what you have to do yourself, so the burden of applying was considerably lighter. They also know a lot of information that I did not, so I could ask about anything I did not understand, and even if you are worried about English, they respond in Japanese, so I had no language worries at all.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
Now that I have permanent residence, I first want to try a job that I am truly interested in.
If you are aiming for permanent residence on your own, I think it is best to consider your age before taking action. If you are young, you probably won’t feel rushed even after going through various options such as attending school, but if, like me, you start close to the working holiday age limit, unless you act early and make plans, you may feel rushed and could miss many other opportunities. I think it is better to carefully consider which path is best and fastest for you before taking on the application.
