After entering Canada on a working holiday, Client Y aimed for permanent residence in order to keep enjoying favourite activities, and chose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada for our track record. After obtaining an LMIA-based work permit, and despite delays in collecting documents during the COVID-19 pandemic, the client obtained permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in about 2 months.
I never imagined I would receive an invitation through Express Entry! If you don’t give up, a path will open.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I entered Canada on a working holiday (working holiday visa) when I was exactly 30. At first I had no plans to immigrate, but I came to want to do more of the activities I love (climbing and backcountry skiing) here, so I set my sights on immigration (permanent residence).
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
Shiraishi VisaJP Canada was the immigration consulting company often used by people at my workplace who had immigrated, so I felt they had a proven track record. Also, among the several companies whose free consultations I attended, I felt they gave me the most reassuring service.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
In my case, I had not planned to immigrate from the start, so my work period on the working holiday alone did not meet the work hours needed to proceed with an immigration application. So first my workplace applied for an LMIA and I obtained a work permit, and Shiraishi VisaJP Canada helped me all the way from there to immigration.
What stands out about my immigration application is that it took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The hard part was when I had documents such as my graduation certificate sent from Japan. My parents went on my behalf, but receiving them and sending them by international mail took longer than usual, and I remember being quite anxious.
On the other hand, there was just one good thing: the score at which the Canadian government issues ITAs dropped sharply. Embarrassingly, my score was far from what was then needed to immigrate, and the only way was to earn points through work experience and language ability, so honestly I thought it would be quite a stretch.
Under those circumstances, I received my ITA just before my work permit at the time was about to expire, right when I had begun asking Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to renew my work permit.
A little before I considered renewing that work permit, the immigration consultant told me, “If you register in the immigration application pool for now, there is a chance the score will go down,” so, honestly thinking it was impossible, I asked them to register me, and I was very surprised that an ITA actually came.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
Ms. Sakurai, the immigration consultant, looked after me all the way from my work permit application to immigration. She gave me quick, precise instructions on what was needed next and answers to my questions, so I am satisfied and glad I asked for the application service.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
Now that I have immigrated, I am thinking of getting qualifications (instructor or guide) related to the activities I had kept only as hobbies. The points-based system makes aiming to immigrate hard, but depending on the times, as in my case, things can change greatly and become easier, so I hope those aiming to immigrate in the future will keep going without giving up.
