After working in the IT industry and experiencing the bankruptcy of their company, this client pursued a new career through a shiatsu school and, on the employer’s recommendation, asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle a work permit application. With careful reminders from us each time a visa was about to expire, the client obtained permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in approximately 15 months.
This client first came to us while working on a co-op visa, and we were able to walk alongside them all the way to their goal of permanent residence!

Client Comments
Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
At first, I was aiming to immigrate by making use of my IT work experience. I went to an IT school in Vancouver and, after a lot of hard work, found a job, but right after I obtained my work permit, the company went bankrupt. I felt uneasy about the IT industry and also wanted to gain a practical skill of my own, so I decided to go to a shiatsu school, as it was an occupation in which it was easier to obtain permanent residence.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
After that, I found a job without any problems, and my employer sponsored me for a work permit. That was when I first consulted Jinzai Canada (Shiraishi VisaJP Canada was called Jinzai Canada at the time), and on my employer’s recommendation, I asked them to handle my visa application.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
I think the immigration application went fairly smoothly. My work permit was going to expire partway through, but they contacted me well before it expired and applied for my visa at the right time so that I could keep working. Communication with the immigration office did not always go well and I sometimes got frustrated, but each time the consultant spoke with the immigration office again and again, which was a great help.
Additional Comments
I am happy to have obtained permanent residence, which had been my goal for a long time. Thank you very much.
