We first turned to them when applying for a post-graduation work permit.

We had been handling new study permit applications and extensions ourselves, but our post-graduation work permit application was refused. We had submitted the documents exactly as the immigration office instructed, so we did not know what to do. On top of that, the refusal arrived just a few days before our eligibility to reapply (the validity of the study permit) was due to expire, so we contacted them, desperate for help.

What was the most memorable part of the process?

After we started our permanent residence application, everything went smoothly up to the notice that the immigration office (CIC) had accepted our documents. However, while many people who had applied in the same category around the same time were progressing smoothly and receiving medical exam requests, ours never came no matter how long we waited, and we grew anxious.

According to the CIC website, processing would take about 13 months, but even after that period there was no progress. After the consultant made an inquiry to CIC for us, the request finally came.

Then, during processing, we suddenly received a phone call one day to confirm whether we really met the eligibility requirements. It was completely unexpected, but the consultant gave us precise instructions, and we were able to submit materials that satisfied the officer.
