After gaining experience in New Zealand, Client M searched from Japan for a job in Canada and, after receiving a job offer, asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to apply for an LMIA-based work permit on their behalf. While flexibly adjusting their working arrangements in Japan, Client M obtained the LMIA-based work permit in about 5 months.
I want to obtain in Canada the permanent residence I had to give up on in New Zealand.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
Aiming for permanent residence, I set out to obtain a cook’s licence in New Zealand, but gave up partway and returned to Japan for a while. While I was researching various options during the COVID-19 pandemic, I came across Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s YouTube channel, learned about the real-time immigration situation in Canada, and became interested in Canada, where my cook’s licence could be put to good use.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
At the same time, thinking I would at least hear what they had to say, I had a free consultation with Shiraishi VisaJP Canada and learned that immigrating to Canada was a possibility for me too, and that there were various other routes as well.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
From then on, partly as a hobby, I checked the job postings on the Jinzai Canada website every day and applied from time to time. One company contacted me for an online interview, and after about three interviews, I was hired. In parallel, I asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to act as my consultant, and because I had asked in advance which documents would be needed, I was able to prepare with plenty of time to spare, which was also great.
The one difficulty was that, because of the pandemic, it was hard to predict how long it would take for the visa to be issued, so I had to stay flexible in my life in Japan, for example by switching my job from full-time to part-time.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
I had applied for a visa on my own before in New Zealand, but I felt more anxious than anything about a visa application that is reviewed at a Canadian airport, so I am really glad I asked them to apply on my behalf. It was so reassuring when Ms. Shiraishi told me, “We will prepare perfect documents,” and her words still stay with me.
I could never have made it this far on my own, even mentally. Her precise advice by email and her guidance on what to do next were a huge help. Thank you so much!
