Client H, who came to Canada accompanying a child studying abroad, graduated from college and obtained a Post-Graduation Work Permit before asking Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle a permanent residence application. Despite immigration rule changes that shifted the age limit for dependent children back and forth, the client obtained permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in approximately 36 months.
The review took a long time, but thanks to the immigration consultant’s precise support, I was able to obtain permanent residence.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I came to Canada for my child’s studies, and as the accompanying parent, I also went to college. After graduating, I obtained a three-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), and with my employer’s cooperation, from around my second year at the company I had Ms. Shiraishi help me apply for permanent residence.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
It took approximately 3 years in total to become a permanent resident. A great many things happened during that time.
When the immigration rules suddenly changed and the age limit for dependent children was lowered from 22 to 19, my child, who was supposed to be included in my application, could no longer be included as a dependant. I was quite shocked, thinking I would have to keep paying international student tuition at university, which is far higher than what local students pay.
Also, my family composition changed due to personal circumstances, and I submitted the supporting documents to the immigration authorities, but the change was not easily reflected in my application, so Ms. Shiraishi contacted the immigration authorities again and again.
After that, there were several requests for additional documents, and each time all I could do was wait. It really felt like a long time.
In the end, however, the age rule changed back again, so children under 22 could once more be included as dependants. Ms. Shiraishi prepared and submitted the application documents for my child again, and I am happy that my child and I have now both become permanent residents.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
I am very grateful to Ms. Shiraishi for handling three Bridging Open Work Permit renewals, for responding precisely to the documents requested by the immigration authorities, and for answering each of my inquiries in detail every time. Thank you for everything over this long period.
