Client T, who obtained Canadian permanent residence as an ECE (childcare worker) after working on a Post-Graduate Work Permit.
After experiencing how tough the job search was in Toronto, she received advice from Shiraishi VisaJP Canada that BC offered a more realistic route to permanent residence, and made the bold decision to move to Vancouver.
That decision became a major turning point, giving a strong push to her three-year journey from job hunting to a work permit and finally to PR.

Thanks to the consultant's up-to-date visa information and realistic advice, moving from Toronto to Vancouver for permanent residence turned out to be exactly the right call.

Key Points from the Consultant

Consultant's Point

Ms. T first came to me for a consultation back in 2015, already holding a Post-Graduate Work Permit.
Since then it has been a long road — a visitor visa, three separate work permits, and finally a permanent residence application — and I have been by her side offering advice the whole way through.
Now that she has finally obtained permanent residence, I am truly moved.
I imagine moving from Toronto to Vancouver for the sake of her PR was a major decision.
Her persistence in never giving up, even through a few bouts of poor health, was wonderful to see.
It was a long journey, but I believe the key to her success was that she kept following advice and moving forward without ever giving up!

Client Comments

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

My first time coming to Canada was on a working holiday, when I first lived in Vancouver and then moved to Toronto. I was captivated by the open-mindedness of Canada, a country that welcomes such a wide variety of nationalities, and felt very much at home.

A friend I made in Toronto studied ECE (Early Childhood Education) at a community college and was working at a local daycare afterward. She told me how advanced early childhood education is in Canada, and since I had previously worked with children at a music school in Japan, I started wanting to study ECE myself.

At that point I returned to Japan for a while, but once things settled down with my family, my desire to study ECE in Canada grew strong again, and I decided to study abroad.

What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?

After deciding to study abroad, I researched things on my own and also consulted a study-abroad agent in Vancouver, who introduced me to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada. Since I wanted to work as an ECE after graduating from college, I wanted to leave the visa side of things to a professional, and asked the experienced team at Shiraishi VisaJP Canada. Having Ms. Shiraishi, who always gave prompt, courteous, concrete, and realistic advice, gave me a real sense of reassurance and trust when consulting with her.

After graduating from college, I worked at a daycare in Toronto on a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP), but I experienced how hard it was to find work as an ECE in a city with so many ECEs already. Ms. Shiraishi told me that ECE demand was high in B.C., and that it was easier to obtain permanent residence there than in Toronto through routes like BCPNP, so I decided to move to Vancouver. I found work soon after moving, and with Ms. Shiraishi’s help I was able to get an LMIA work permit issued, which then led into my permanent residence application.

What was the most memorable part of the process?

The most difficult part was when I received the letter from IRCC saying my review was complete, and I had to land (re-enter Canada) to finalize it. While my application was under review, I went back to Japan for a short vacation, and during a routine full-body health checkup I happened to have there, an illness was discovered. While I was undergoing treatment in Japan, I received an email from Ms. Shiraishi saying the review was complete — much sooner than I had expected, which caught me off guard.

Even then, Ms. Shiraishi carefully walked me through the paperwork to handle from Japan, and even while I wasn’t feeling well during treatment, I was able to keep the process moving. I safely re-entered Canada from Japan to complete landing and received my PR at the airport. When the officer handed me the signed and stamped letter and said “Congratulations!”, I truly felt relieved.

How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?

Ms. Shiraishi at Shiraishi VisaJP Canada is highly experienced and stays on top of Canada’s constantly changing immigration rules, always giving me realistic, prompt advice. I was also able to research things carefully on my own and ask her whenever I had questions, which let me move forward with each step with real understanding and confidence. Even in the uncertain situation of applying for a visa and then for PR, I felt I could trust her and lean on her, and I’m truly grateful. I would love to ask for her help again when it’s time to renew my PR card.

Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada

Canada is a multicultural country where people of many different cultures, backgrounds, and religions live together, which really broadens your perspective. It is also an environment where it is easy to study and try new things, no matter your age. On the other hand, crime is also fairly common, so I would encourage people to avoid dangerous places and situations and enjoy a safe life in Canada. Compared to Japan, you may find some things inconvenient or slow, but I hope you can take things at an easier pace and experience the openness of Canada.
