After staying in Canada on a Working Holiday Visa and receiving a job offer from an employer, Client M asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle an LMIA Work Permit application as a reflexologist. Although processing took longer than expected at times, Client M obtained a 3-year LMIA Work Permit in 10 months.

Whenever I emailed with questions or concerns, they responded quickly every time, which let me wait for the results with peace of mind.

Key Points from the Consultant

Consultant's Point

Both the LMIA review at the labour ministry and the work permit review at immigration fell during a period when processing was taking a long time, but the client successfully obtained a 3-year visa.
Reflexologist is one of the healthcare occupations that the Canadian government recognizes as being in high demand.
Let's aim for permanent residence, and in the future, for the chance to work in Canada as a physical therapist as well.

Client Comments

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

At first, I came to Canada on a Co-op visa and wasn’t really thinking about immigrating. My goal was to improve my English and deepen multicultural exchange. I originally planned to stay for one year, but I wasn’t satisfied with my English ability, and life in Vancouver was fulfilling, so I switched to a Working Holiday Visa and decided to extend my stay by another year.

After that, I received a job offer from the workplace where I had been working, and decided to go ahead with an LMIA Work Permit application aiming toward permanent residence.

What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?

My employer had given job offers to employees several times before and readily agreed to do so again. In particular, my employer said that dealing with Shiraishi VisaJP Canada was smooth and that the application process always went without trouble, so on my employer’s recommendation, I had a free consultation over LINE.

What was the most memorable part of the process?

When I applied, it took much longer than usual, and information from the government often changed back and forth within just a few days, which made me feel anxious at times. However, whenever I emailed them with questions or concerns, they responded quickly every time, and that let me wait for the results with peace of mind.

How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?

Shiraishi VisaJP Canada handled all the communication with my employer and the government, so all I had to do was email over the necessary documents. If I had tried to do this myself without support, I think it would have taken an enormous amount of time and effort.

Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada

In Japan, I worked as a physical therapist, and while I found the work rewarding, I had a lot of dissatisfaction with the pay and the way of working, along with anxiety about the future. Because of that, when I first came to Canada, I was thinking that I would improve my English and eventually be able to hold two jobs at once back in Japan.

Now, making use of my experience in Japan, I work as a reflexologist, and I’m satisfied with both the pay and the way of working.

Going forward, my goal is to keep improving my English, and I’m also thinking about working as a physical therapist here in Canada.

When I first came to Canada, I only had vague goals, but coming to Vancouver gave me a good opportunity to reflect on myself, and I feel I was able to set new goals and broaden my perspective.
