Obtained Permanent Residence Through an Entry-Level Occupation|Client T

While working at a seafood processing plant, Client T was introduced by the company to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to consult about a work permit, learned of the possibility of applying for permanent residence through BCPNP ELSS, and asked us to handle it. Although we advised from the outset that it would take more than a year and a half, the client was able to wait with peace of mind and obtained permanent residence in about 22 months.
I obtained permanent residence just over three years after first coming to Canada on a working holiday.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
In Japan, I graduated from an agricultural university and worked in farming in Hokkaido, so after coming to Canada on a working holiday, I was still interested in food-related work and got a job as a staff member at a seafood processing plant.
The work on the plant’s production line is simple, but because you stand all day in the cold, Canadian staff tend not to stay long. About four months before my working holiday ended, the company told me they would support a work permit if I would stay.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
When I applied for the work permit, my supervisor at the company introduced me to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada. When I went to talk with immigration consultant Ms. Shiraishi, she told me that my job was one that could lead to permanent residence in BC, and I suddenly felt highly motivated.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
After I successfully obtained my work permit, I started studying English in earnest and worked harder than ever. When my English score reached the target, I talked to my supervisor about applying for permanent residence, and I was very happy when they said they would be glad to cooperate. I felt that all my hard work up to then had been recognised.
I then applied for permanent residence under the BCPNP ELSS category.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
The review took a very long time, but Ms. Shiraishi had told me from the start that it would take more than a year and a half, so I was prepared and never once felt rushed. Before my visa was about to expire, they let me know before I even noticed, and they handled everything for me, so I was able to wait with peace of mind.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
I sometimes hear people say that they want to settle permanently in Canada but do not know what to do because they have no skills or work history. Even with an entry-level job like mine, there is a path to permanent residence. I think it is a good idea not to give up and to go and consult Shiraishi VisaJP Canada once.
