Client Comments
Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
I wanted to get permanent residence in Canada, and when I heard I could get a working holiday after my co-op, I got one right away. I was researching how to connect it to a work permit or permanent residence, and I was torn between looking for a job and a path to permanent residence using my background in accounting, or aiming for BCPNP ELSS.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
In the end, an employer in a suburban part of BC agreed to apply for a work permit for me, and at that point I asked Shiraishi VisaJP Canada to handle the work permit application.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
I was not really satisfied with the working conditions, but I was putting up with it, thinking “as long as they give me a work permit.” Then, a few months before my working holiday expired, I found my current employer in Victoria. The work permit application was already well underway, so I hesitated, but when I consulted the consultant, I received the reassuring advice, “We will make the visa work to match what you want,” so I took the plunge and quit. Right away, I had them apply for a work permit again with my current employer.
My working holiday expired partway through, so following the consultant’s advice, I returned to Japan temporarily. Right at that time, I married my fiancée, and now I am on a work permit and she is on a working holiday, and we have started living together.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
I want to keep consulting the consultant, obtain permanent residence together with my wife, and keep doing my best in Canada.
