Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

I originally came to Canada on a working holiday because, when I was working in a medical profession and consulting with foreign patients, I felt that what I wanted to say was not getting across through an interpreter, so I wanted to be able to talk with them in English myself, even a little. So I knew nothing at all about permanent residence, and I was planning to return to Japan after a year and go straight back to work.

However, after coming to Canada, I came to value its multiculturalism and the free attitude of taking on new challenges regardless of age or gender, and I wanted to grow in that environment. While thinking about staying in Canada long term, I found the goal of “obtaining permanent residence.”

To meet the required years of work experience, I was also accepted to a college with the aim of getting the work permit available after graduation, but the café where I had been working since my working holiday offered to support an LMIA, so considering my finances, I decided to use the LMIA.
