Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

In 2013, I came to Canada with a backpack, planning to stay for only two months. The plan was to study a little English in Vancouver and then travel to various countries. However, soon after I started living here, I was completely captivated by Canada and came to really want to live in this country longer.

So I switched from a visitor visa to a working holiday visa and immediately had a free counselling session at Shiraishi VisaJP Canada. Before the counselling, I had vaguely been thinking about getting a work permit, but they told me that in my case, permanent residence was more attainable than a work permit, which was a real eye-opener.

What was the most memorable part of the process?

After that, I met an employer who agreed to sponsor me, and about half a year later I was able to submit my PNP application. However, although I had initially been told that BCPNP permanent residence would take about a year from application, the government revised the rules several times along the way, and the processing time kept getting longer, turning it into a far longer battle than I had ever expected. Honestly, during the processing period, between worries about work and not knowing how long the review would go on, I was quite worn down mentally.
