Client H consulted Shiraishi VisaJP Canada on the recommendation of a working holiday employer, and we proposed aiming for permanent residence from the start instead of a work permit. While continuing to work throughout the review, the client obtained permanent residence under BCPNP Skilled in approximately 26 months.
The consultant stepped in for the discussions with my employer, so everything went smoothly.

What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
During my working holiday, my employer introduced me to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada, and I went there to consult about a work permit. I had wanted to immigrate from the start, and when I told them so, the immigration consultant suggested that I apply for immigration from the beginning instead of a work permit. The consultant also joined the discussions with my employer, and after my employer agreed, I decided to apply for immigration rather than a work permit.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
My working holiday expired partway through the immigration application, but I was granted a two-year work permit for people with an immigration application in progress. The immigration review took a very long time, but because I had a visa that let me work the whole time, I was able to keep working in Canada without any problems.
During the review, there was a period when my workplace lost staff and work became very hard. At that time, the consultant even listened to my complaints about work that had nothing to do with visas (laughs), and I was able to keep working hard. When the restaurant I worked at won a Vancouver best restaurant award, I felt proud to be working there.
Future outlook and a message for those planning to travel to Canada
Now that I have permanent residence, I want to train a little longer at another restaurant and eventually open my own place.
