Client M wished to stay in Canada toward the end of a co-op program and consulted Shiraishi VisaJP Canada, where we proposed a permanent residence application along with the possibility of obtaining a work permit. After a long review of more than a year and a half, and with the cooperation of the employer, the client obtained permanent residence under BCPNP Skilled in approximately 39 months.
With a job offer from the employer the client had worked for during co-op, this was an unusual provincial nominee program application for permanent residence made from Japan.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?
Toward the end of my co-op, I really wanted to stay in Canada, so I went to Shiraishi VisaJP Canada for a consultation.
What made you choose Shiraishi VisaJP Canada?
I had already used my working holiday, so I thought my only option was to have a company support a work permit for me. But when it turned out I could no longer apply for a work permit and I was at a loss, immigration consultant Ms. Shiraishi told me that I could apply for permanent residence, and that a work permit would also be issued partway through the application. I thought that was a good option and decided to go ahead.
What was the most memorable part of the process?
There were several employers who said they might be able to support me, so I had Ms. Shiraishi talk with the employers directly, and in the end the employer I had worked for during my co-op agreed to cooperate.
The permanent residence review took a very long time, and it felt endless. About a year and a half after applying, just when I had started to think I might never be able to return to Canada, the review finally progressed to the point where I could get a work permit, and I was able to come back to Canada and work again.
Then another year and a half passed. On my way back from a recent temporary trip to Japan, I successfully completed my landing at Vancouver Airport and returned to Canada as a permanent resident! The long, hard waiting period is over, and I am filled with relief from the bottom of my heart.
How was your experience using Shiraishi VisaJP Canada’s services?
Three years ago, when I could not apply for a work permit and had almost given up on returning to Canada, Ms. Shiraishi suggested a permanent residence application over Skype, and from the time I trusted her and asked her to handle it until today, she gave me words of encouragement and careful guidance many times. Although I was anxious, I think I was able to get this far because I believed in Ms. Shiraishi and Shiraishi VisaJP Canada.
