Successfully Obtaining Permanent Residence After Once Nearly Giving Up｜Client Y

When my employer’s work permit support fell through, I thought the path to permanent residence was closed, but after consulting Shiraishi VisaJP Canada, I successfully obtained permanent residence.

Why did you decide to immigrate to Canada?

After studying graphic design at an art university in the UK, I returned to Japan and worked in Tokyo as a web/graphic designer for about 3 years. However, I began to feel that I really wanted to work overseas, and by chance I heard that “if you go to Vancouver and have skills, you can find a job.”

After agonizing over it for a long time, I quit my job and moved to Canada, took a six-month web design course at BCIT to improve my skills, and then switched to a working holiday.

After that, my employer agreed to support me, and within the two months before my visa expired, I prepared the documents and completed both the work permit and BCPNP applications. A few months later I was nominated under the BCPNP, and my permanent residence application was also successfully submitted.

Then, after waiting about 1 year and 3 months from the permanent residence application, my Confirmation of Permanent Residence finally arrived.

Along the way, my employer was audited regarding my work permit, which made me nervous, but I was able to call Ms. Sakurai with my questions then as well, and she put my mind at ease.
