What is the Agriculture Talent Pathway?
The Agriculture Talent Pathway is a sub-category created to address the severe labour shortage in agriculture and food processing, Saskatchewan’s key industries. It is open to workers who hold a job offer in an agriculture-related occupation from an employer in the province. Under the 2026 SINP rules, agriculture is designated a priority sector, which means applications are assessed with more flexibility and higher priority than other occupations. The pathway to permanent residence is open to a wide range of occupations, from farm machinery operators to the farm labourers and food processing staff who keep operations running.
Requirements for the Agriculture Talent Pathway
You may be able to apply if you live outside Canada, or hold legal status in Canada (refugee claimants excluded), and meet the following requirements.
Job offer requirements
- You must have a job offer from an employer in Saskatchewan’s agriculture sector for permanent, full-time employment.
- You must hold a valid Employer Position Assessment (EPA) obtained by an employer registered with the SINP.
Work experience
You must have full-time work experience meeting one of the following conditions. This experience does not need to be continuous.
- At least 1 year of work experience in total in the occupation you intend to apply with, gained within the past 3 years.
- Or, at least 6 months (780 hours) of work experience already completed with your current employer, the one that issued the Employer Position Assessment (EPA).
